Warm Winter Wishes

Hello,

It seems that at this time of year, for one reason or another, peoples thoughts turn to Christmas.  This is seen in the number of Winter/Christmas challenges.  I can relate to the sentiments on the Squirrel and the Fox.  Here in Australia it just isn't the same eating hearty roast meals in 40 degree temperature.  So lots of people now do cold dinners like seafood and salads and icecream plum pudding.  Therefor July is a good opportunity to do the big meal.

So for tonights card I gained inspiration from the challenge at The Squirrel and The Fox - Christmas in July and the Christmas Blog Challenge is for an Easel card.
Supplies:  White, red, green and Glitz card, Sassy Cheryl digital image, computer generated sentiment, Lyra pencils, Spellbinder dies, Papermania embossing folder and Carl punch

The Christmas in July challenges are Simply Create TooShellys Images and The Stamp Spot .  I do like The Stamp Spot image.

Allways Something Creative  - Is Christmas Already?
Always Playing with Paper  -  Anything Goes Christmas
Make it Monday - Anything Goes

I do feel a bit like the Vicar of Dibley in The Christmas Lunch Incident episode.

That's all for tonight.  Thank you for dropping by.

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend.  I started my weekend early I had and RDO and went with my cousin to see Monet’s Garden at the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne.  The gallery was founded in 1861 and is the oldest public art museum in Australia.  There a couple of features of the museum I particularly like.  As you enter you pass the water wall.  Which is a large pane of glass with water running down it and the inclination is to run a finger through the water.

From inside

Another feature I like is the ceiling of the Great Hall.  It is the world's largest stained glass ceiling.  As children we would lie on the floor to view the ceiling.

Every winter the gallery has a special exhibition and this year it is Monet's Garden.  It was wonderful.  It had pieces from his student days to his iconic garden at Giverny.

Afterwards we sat in the sun on the Southbank Promenade drinking coffee and people watching.  There were a lot of British tourist.  This was because the following night the British and Irish Lions were playing Australia in Melbourne and the tourist were here to support them.

Then in the evening we went to a concert.  It was Rachmaninov and Elgar.  A very pleasant way to end a lovely day.

Well it's late now so I must finish.

Thank you for dropping in
